The Southside Southerners and Lady Southerners travelled to Maumelle to take on the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs and Lady Mustangs on the bowling lanes.
The Southerners’ boys team fell to the Mustangs 7-6.
Southside won 377-322 in the singles matches, while CAC won 389-386, 353-331, and 361-347.
In the bakers matches, the Southerners won 128-99 and the Mustangs won 114-108.
Head coach Fred Denison said “the boys lost a close one missing out on winning a singles game by three pins and a Bakers game by six pins.
Johnny Neel led the way for the Southerners with a high game of 180. Antonio Ciamaricone had a 159 and Ethan Koch chipped in with a 155.
Southside won the girls matches 11-2.
In the singles games, the Lady Southerners won 397-347, 372-360 and 349-332. The Lady Mustangs won 411-330.
Southside swept the Bakers matches 154-90 and 180-103.
Hope Sharp threw the high game for the Lady Southerners with a 161. Emma Patterson added a 134 and Emilee Jones and Katie Denison had 125 and 122 respectively.
On the girls matches, Denison said they “had another great day and set their season high in the Bakers match with an outstanding 180 game.”
He finished by saying he was “really proud of these kids and hopefully we will have even better days ahead.”
Southside will be back at their home bowling alley, Hollywood Bowl, today at 3:30 for a match with the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves.
