PEARCY — The Batesville High School track and field team had a handful of competitors at the Class 5A State Track Meet that was held Thursday at Lake Hamilton High School’s Wolf Stadium.
The Pioneers had two individuals in the boys’ division as Jermiah Strickland finished seventh in the 110 hurdles while Gavin Cargill was ninth in the pole vault.
The girs’ 4x200 relay team of Destiy Hardin, Camya Porter, Rachel Mills and Serenity Patterson finished 14th.
3A State
PRESCOTT – Two area schools sent a handful of athletes to the Class 3A State Track Meet which was held at Prescott High School’s Cummins Stadium on Tuesday.
The Melbourne Bearkatz finished with seven points for 25th place and the Cave City Cavemen had six points for 26th
Nathan Woodall was fifth in the 110 hurdles, Shawn Wortham was eighth in the 3200 run and the 4x800 relay team was seventh.
For Cave City, Sawyer Seat was third in the high jump.
The Cavewomen 17th with 14 points while Melbourne was 18th with 13 points
Britney Mahan scored all of the Cave City Cavewomen’s points as she finished second in the 3200 run and third in the 1600 run.
Maci Webb scored all 13 points for Melbourne. She finished third in the pole vault, fifth in the 100 hurdles and sixth in the 300 hurdles.
1A State
LINCOLN – The Midland Mustangs scored 14 points and finished 17th overall at the Class 1A State Track Meet at Wolves Stadium that was held on Thursday.
Daemean Roberts was fifth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the high jump.
Noah Conder was sixth in the discus.
Riley Pruitt was seventh in the 300 hurdles.
The 4x800 relay team was seventh.
2A State
QUITMAN – The only athlete to score at the Class 2A State Track Meet on Tuesday was Izard County’s Noah Stevenson who finished fourth in the 200 dash.
