Keith McGaha of the Batesville Junior High School Pioneers crossed the finish line first to win the 400-meter dash at the track meet Tuesday at Pioneer Stadium.
The Batesville High School track team served notice to three Region 2-AAA track teams during a meet Tuesday afternoon at Pioneer Stadium – it will have to be reckoned with during the district meeting.
The Pioneers totaled 251 points in dominating the meet. Nettleton was the closest of five other competitors with 102 points.
It was pretty much the same for Batesville teams entered in the other three divisions. The Lady Pioneers won handily in the senior girls division and both BJHS teams won with ease.
“I was just real surprised with the kids’ performances after not running for two weeks, Pioneer Coach Steve Russell said. “We just ran extremely well today.”
