Rickey Wayne Huskey, 69, of Strawberry died Thursday, January 7, 2021.

He was born October 30, 1951 in Caraway, Arkansas to Willie Edward and Julia Augusta (Bailey) Huskey. He retired from farming in 2019, having spent his entire life on the family farm. He was elected Lawrence County Farm Family of the Year in 1992. He spent the last year helping his sons to farm.

He was a lifetime member of Saffell Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Treasurer. He was a graduate of Strawberry High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He married Levenia Guthrie on June 10, 1972 and they were married until her passing on July 11, 2018. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at Lake Norfork. He loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Levenia Guthrie Huskey; and three brothers, Carrell Gene Huskey, Willie Edward Huskey Jr. and Jerry Lee Huskey.

Survivors include two sons, Derrick Huskey of Strawberry and Willie Joe Huskey (Cassie) of Cave City; four sisters, Mary Jo Ellen Wann (Carlton) of Paragould, Deborah Penn of Pekin, Illinois, Barbara Broadway of Smithville and Kathey Wilson of Jonesboro; 32 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saffell Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Donnell and Bro. Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Ward Cemetery at Saffell. Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Thacker, Darian Thacker, Keith Huskey, Bret Broadway, Greg Howard and Boue Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers are DeWayne Wilson, Randy Passmore, Scotty Huskey, Randy Huskey, Rusty Huskey, Bart Penn, David Wann, Jeff Huskey, Jimmy Huskey, Lyle Huskey, Joe Guthrie, James Guthrie, Ronald Saffell and all the men of Saffell Missionary Baptist Church.
