A bench warrant was issued for Jimmy Goodwin Mason, 54, for allegedly trafficking a controlled substance, a class Y felony.

According to the affidavit for probable cause for arrest, law enforcement personnel were surveilling a known drug sales-location in Batesville on Dec. 3, when they observed a Mazda CX-7 leaving the location, speeding, run a stop sign, and turn without signaling.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle, Mason, was searched.

Fourteen individual clear plastic bags containing a white and brownish crystalline substance were found on his person. All 14 bags were tested with Nartec field kits and all 14 bags tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 239 grams.

Bond was been set at $40,000.
