MELBOURNE — Kendra Davis of Cave City and Misty See of Concord have been awarded the annual Dan “Wally” Pittman Endowed Scholarships for the 2020-21 year. Both students will receive $250 for fall 2020 semester and $250 for spring 2021 semester at Ozarka College.

Dr. Dan Pittman was a long-time social science instructor at Ozarka College until 2006. Friends, family members and colleagues of Pittman raised funds to create a scholarship in his memory to assist students.

This scholarship fund is managed by the Ozarka College Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

The Friends of the Paul Weaver Library Scholarship has been awarded to Justin Brimer of Cave City. The scholarship will provide $250 for the fall semester and $250 for the spring semester. Brimer is seeking an associate of science in education degree and plans to become a teacher.

The Friends of the Paul Weaver Library is a volunteer organization formed to provide support to the Paul Weaver Library at Ozarka. Each year, members designate $500 to fund a scholarship for a deserving student. For more information about scholarships, contact Suellen Davidson, director of development at Ozarka, at 870-368-2059.

Jacie Korenak of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, has been selected to receive the Gwenn Lea Memorial Aviation Scholarship at Ozarka College. Korenak will receive $500 toward the fall 2020 semester and an additional $500 toward the spring 2021 semester at Ozarka.

After receiving a $50,000 donation from the late Gwenn A. Lea, Ozarka College designated a portion of this gift for endowed scholarships that benefit students in the aviation program. Lea, who was from Horseshoe Bend, was a strong supporter of Ozarka and served on the College Board of Trustees. Upon her death in 2015, she left funds to the college for scholarship purposes.

For more information about the Ozarka College Aviation program, contact John Catlett, Ozarka College director of aviation, at 870-368-7926.
