According to a press release from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, deputies made contact with a male juvenile riding a bicycle along Hwy. 175. After confirming he was not a runaway, deputies loaded his bicycle into the back of the patrol truck and and took the juvenile to get some ice cream at a nearby gas station. While enroute from the gas station to the juvenile’s residence, the juvenile pull out a pistol from his backpack an shot through the safety cage in the front of the patrol truck, striking Boyd in the arm.
Boyd was transported by Spring River Ambulance to White River Medical Center for non-life threatening-injuries, and the juvenile has been take into custody, awaiting filing of formal charges.
