Man wanted for assaulting pregnant girlfriend_bluelights

Independence County authorities are on the lookout for a man that allegedly abused his pregnant girlfriend and attempted to have sex with her against her will.

Brian Daniel Morgan, 31, is wanted after his girlfriend told authorities that she and Morgan began arguing “about an ex texting him,” according to the Independence County Sheriff’s Office report.

A warrant was filed for his arrest on charges of Third Degree Domestic Battery, a Class C felony and Interference with Emergency Communication, a Class A misdemeanor.

The girlfriend told deputies that shortly after the argument, Morgan wanted to have sex. When she refused, the girlfriend told authorities that Morgan “tried to take sex from me. I kept my legs closed and tried to get him off.”

When he gave up, the girlfriend stated that Morgan got up, took her phone, locked it and also took possession of her car keys. Morgan threw the phone, striking the girlfriend “in the right leg leaving a bruise,” according to the report.

She told deputies when Morgan went for her phone a second time, she attempted to go to her sister’s house next door, but Morgan came outside, grabbed her by her hair and dragged her back into the house. “She attempted to scream for help, but [Morgan] placed his hand over her mouth so she couldn’t do so,” according to the report.

She was able to retreat to her sister’s residence when Morgan went into a bedroom. She got to her sister’s residence and stayed there until Morgan left her house. At that point, the two women went back to her house and locked the door.
