Mike Moss of Tomahawk Chop Company has thrown his way to the top of the leaderboards as a Pro League axe thrower. He’s now earned a bid to the 2021 World Axe Throwing Championship later this year. Moss told Main Street Batesville “I take a lot of pride in trying to do the right thing by all of my customers and I enjoy throwing with everyone. With that being said, thank you everyone for helping me accomplish the highest of goals this spring.”

Celebrate

Pride celebrations will be from 4-8 p.m. at the Pocket Park. Another upcoming event will be the Main Street Grand Reopening, Saturday, July 3, presented by Centennial BankActivities will include specials and promotions at various businesses, live entertainment, and the Batesville Bicentennial Celebration Car Show. The car show is presented by First Community Bank and coordinated by the River City Cruisers.

A fundraiser to help build a skatepark within the downtown area will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31. There will be temporary ramps, food, and vendors.

Read

The Paper Chase Book Store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. They have a wonderful selection of new children’s books and thrift classics. Their upstairs is now open to browsing also. Come explore and find a new treasure to read. The first Thursday in September they will resume their popular ladies reading group. Eat

There’s always lots of love and lattes at The Pinto Coffee and Comida. Come see them at 100 East Main Street.

Stella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria and Bistro has way more than pizza for lunch and dinner. We love their sandwiches too. Try the turkey and cheddar dipped in ranch this week. They are located at 250 East Main Street.

Big’s has a crazy good hot dog and homemade onion rings. Try it with a soda or sweet tea. You can find them at 101 East Main Street.
