Like snow in the Ozarks, the White River Wonderland Ferris Wheel will only be around for a short time, from Friday, Nov. 27, to Thursday, Dec. 3. Online reservations are required and the hours will be from 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday night and from 4-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Downtown merchants and other small businesses will have “Keep the Cheer Here,” to promote shopping locally, supporting friends and neighbors, while finding unique gifts during the holiday season.
At 5 p.m. Saturday at the Citizens Bank Pocket Park at 325 E. Main St. there will be Christmas music, the story “The Night Before Christmas,” and the lighting ceremony for the 20 ft. tall Batesville Christmas Tree. At 5 p.m. White River Wonderland starts back up and lasts until 10 p.m.
At 7 p.m. Saturday the Melba Theater will host “A Very Melba Christma” with a free showing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” which is rated PG-13.
If you can’t make for those events, the holiday spirit continues with An Old Fashioned Christmas on Main Street Batesville, Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5. This event will include a Winter Market, live music, carolers, pop-up shops, activities for children and much more.
