POCAHONTAS — Black River Technical College Career and Technical Center recently hosted guest speakers from Home Instead: In-Home Senior Care.
Home Care Consultant Shiloh Gonzalez and Client Care Coordinator LeaAnn Hutchison spoke with the Allied Health CTC students about the services provided by their caregivers and the qualities they look for in employees.
Home Instead provides home care services to aging adults with tailor-made support by professional caregivers to allow them to stay well and at home.
In other BRTC news, Machine Tool Technology Instructor Dr. Rick Barker recently earned a Doctorate in Philosophy of Innovation and Technology Management with an emphasis in engineering management from National University.
Barker also earned a master’s degree in Vocational/Career and Technical Administration and a bachelor of science in Technology Management from Arkansas State University. He also holds an associate in Business Management from Arkansas State University-Newport and an associate in Business Communications from BRTC.
Barker and his wife Carie Barker reside in Jonesboro.
Black River Technical College is a 2-year community college in Pocahontas and Paragould which offers associate degrees and certificates in general education and technical and career education. The college houses one of the state’s law enforcement training academies and fire science academies. BRTC has 1,500 full- and part-time students.
