UA's Ezell named to All-Community Service team

FAYETTEVILLE -- University of Arkansas senior graduate transfer first baseman Trevor Ezell of Bryant was named Wednesday to SEC baseball's All-Community Service team by the SEC Office in Birmingham, Alabama.

A graduate from Southeast Missouri State transferred to UA grad school with one year of Razorbacks eligibility, Ezell in his one year in Fayetteville has participated in Salute to Veterans, visited patients at the VA Hospital, participated in the Book Hogs Kickoff at Vandergriff Elementary and visited other elementary schools promoting reading, participated in the the Christmas Angel Tree program helping underprivileged families during the holidays, and delivered Christmas gifts to Greenland Elementary school.

On the field, the former second baseman who had never played first base until a throwing arm injury necessitated his position move, has become an accomplished first baseman while establishing himself as the Razorbacks leadoff hitter and stolen base leader, 17 in 18 attempts, while batting .325 with seven home runs, 18 doubles two triples and 38 RBI.
