Need To Vent

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Sorry folks but it is vent time.
I am usually pretty hush hush about the personal things in my life
Today was just a little much..
My grandson had an accident that led my daughter and him in the ER.
He had a cut through his ear where he had pulled a tv off on himself..
She called me and said that they told her he needed a ear, nose & throat doctor..
I said fine we have two here in town...
She said neither one of them are on call !!
They said she had to drive him to Little Rock to get his ear stitched up..
i am still in shock that they would not call a local doctor.. What is the deal?
When i was a child my father woke me up in the middle of the night to ride with him
to the drug store because someone needed their meds filled..
It was not even a question about being on call.. Someone needed him and he was there!
Have people changed that much?
A town this size does not have emergency care for a one and a half year old boy??

White River Medical Center

Our dear mother has been sick for months and no one could find the problem.  She was continuously losing weight and getting weaker by the day. It seemed like no one could find the answer. Dr. Barnes put her in White River Medical Center trying to find the answer.  After staying up all night, he thought he might have the answer.  They did an angogram on her intestines and all three arteries were blocked.  They put In stints and she is on the road to recovery.  I can not possibly tell you how good she has been taken care of and how good the worried family has been taken care by the wonderful staff at White River Medical Center.  There is so many good people that needs to be acknowledged but if we listed them by name we are afraid that someone would be missed. White River has a scale of 0-5 for you to tell them how you were treated and taken care of by their staff.  A 5 just isn't high enough.  We can not possibly give White River Medical Center or the staff the praise that they so richly deserve.  Thank You White River Medical Center.  The Velma Warren Family, Max, Vickie, Mike, Billy Max and Karen.

Your paper has done stories in the past about gas prices but it needs
to be written about again.  I went to Jonesboro on Satuday and gas was
3.79 per gallon while ours was 3.99.  If the locals hear about a price
increase, it can go up twice a day.  When it comes to the price
dropping 15 dollars a barrel in a two day period, they want use up all
the fuel in the pipeline and in the tank before it goes down.  We need
a break on gas prices like all the other communities. Thank You,

Searching for my boys

| | Comments (3) | TrackBacks (0)
Around 1993 I went thru a rough divorce and my ex parents wound up
with my 2 boys. Things were "ok" while I was still living in town
until i wanted to move back to Texas and go to collage in Dallas. I
was promised they would never stop me from seeing or talking to my
boys cause they would grow up to hate their grandparents if they did
that.

Well needless to say about 2 months after I moved here they told me
it would be in the best interest of the kids that I dont call anymore.
Needless to say I kept calling which they never answered the phone. I
sent birthday cards and holiday cards, they were sent back.
My boys were and still are my life. Not a day goes by that I dont
think about them. I now have a daughter that is 14 months.

I am hoping I will reach someone who may can help me get in contact
with my boys. Many years have gone by and Im running out of ways to
find them.

Their names are John Joseph Harris II birth date is 10-9-1989. Joshua
Kiehl Harris birthdate is 9-9-91.

Please if you know them please tell them their mom is searching for
them.

Something has got to change!

Ok here is the deal. I am fed up with the things that go on here.  I have been a resident here for approximately 20 years. As a teenager I was in awe that MTV was literally taken from us over someones opinion that it was bad. Over time I have sit back and watched things here and compared them to where I grew up (a normal place) and still am in awe! For starters, we are not allowed to buy alcohol here because again in "someones" opinion it's a bad thing. These same "people" also allowed Josies to sell alcohol, which in turn allows the same people to still have their drinks but the common people cannot without spending loads of gas money driving to Newport or Elgin. I remember the controversy with the skate ramp and how "it is a place where drugs are sold" etc etc. Now it's gone, but yet drugs are still in Batesville (imagine that). I remember one business being ordered to remove its "adult" movies even though they were never in public view. I remember the opportunity arose for Batesville to expand it's city limits and allow our city to grow, but that was shot down too. Now I am hearing that they want to shut down the parks at night because of vandalism etc.  I understand this is a problem but I also feel too many of our rights and freedoms are violated here compared to anywhere else I have ever been in this wonderful country. Nothing is done here that benefits the people, only the "people" in charge. If we close the park does the people committing the vandalism and crime just go home and do nothing else wrong? What about the innocent people who benefit from these things? Does anyone care about them?  If the vandalism moves from the park to somewhere else then what?  Does anyone care that I have taken my family to the park at night to play when it's not so hot? Does anyone care that we the people should have the right to buy a 6 pack of beer for $5 without having to spend $15 in gas to do it? Does anyone not see the connection here with meth & kids? Why is this area one of the worst in the nation? Could it be because there is nothing for the kids to do. Does anyone notice that there are few jobs here that pay decent? I have 3 college degrees and can make more money at Pilgrims working with illegal aliens than I can in my professional field. This town is becoming really sad. It is time for the people to stand up and fight for their rights as citizens to have the freedoms they want (within reason of course) and speak out! Let's not stand for this anymore! Let's allow this town to grow, let's generate revenue from alcohol sales and lottery tickets. Lets entice businesses to come here to create jobs. Wouldn't it be nice to get a real steakhouse or restaurant here, too bad your big names won't ever come because they can't sell alcohol. Too bad the people here will forever suffer because of a few people in power who think they know what's best for the majority....they are deeply mistaken. I am scared to think what is next....

Life's Little Rides

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Why do good things usually go bad?
Thinking of this makes me rather sad
Why a surprize lasts a very short time
The very few things that can be bought with one thin dime
How surprize lillies bloom in one day
Yet they seem to go out in the same way
In the fall the leaves are so pretty all the color's in there
Then a few day's pass before you realize they are bare
How good friends seems to live so far
People that live close could care less who you are
"Good thing's alway's come to an end "
The happier times are just around the bend"
Things are changeing while they stay the same,
You have to make yourself a winner in Live's little game
Keep in mind the near future will soon be your past
Let Life's up's and down's give you a laugh.
To love yourself you have to like who you are inside
Then just grin and bare it on life's little rides!
