An armed robber fled a Westside business empty-handed Thursday night after he was unable to open the cash register, according to local authorities.
Mary C. Sullivan, a clerk at Tobacco Warehouse #8, at 810 N. Central Ave., said she was getting ready to take out the trash around 7 p.m. when a man walked up and pointed a gun at her and demanded money.
