Scot women knock off nation’s No. 1 team

The Lyon College Scots may have made the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions’ stay atop the NAIA national poll a short one.

The Scots defeated the Lady Lions 48-43 in Becknell Gymnasium Thursday night, a little less than two weeks after the team from Henderson, Tenn., moved into the top spot and less than one week after they became a unanimous No. 1.

The Scots had moved into the 25th spot on Jan. 9. They fell out after losing to the Union Lady Bulldogs in Jackson, Tenn., on Jan. 12.
