For the second time in three months, the new Welcome to Batesville sign, midway of the Ramsey Mountain curve south of town, has been the target of paint ball guns.
The latest incident was discovered around 8 p.m. Thursday and reported to Independence County Deputy Bret Ward who said the sign had been shot nine times with green paint balls. Orange was the color used in the previous attack Dec. 29.
