A Fort Smith man who allegedly used horse sedatives at a Batesville motel to get to sleep is “lucky to be alive,” according to a local veterinarian.
According to Independence County Deputy Anthony Carter, a Vital Link ambulance was called to the motel just before 6 p.m. Tuesday and when they arrived they noticed items of a suspicious nature and requested police.
Carter said when he arrived the ambulance crew was loading 30-year-old William C. Wilson onto a gurney and preparing to transport him to White River Medical Center.
