For more than 60 years the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program has provided high school juniors from across the country with the opportunity to participate in a hands-on citizenship training program.
On March 6, the American Legion Auxiliary of Jenkins-Henderson Unit 114 of Batesville recognized local participants Courtney Cross, Kirbi McMullin, Norma Lopez, Keri Rogers, Linh Tran and Tanya Tye for their participation in the 2009 Arkansas Girls State program held at Harding University in Searcy, May 30 through June 5, 2009. All are Batesville High School students.
